    Abstract:

The Early Devonian coral in Xainza area is profoundly developed in differentiation and abundance aspects. By analyzing the fauna association, especially by calculating the coral-Otcuka coefficient quantificationally, we conclude that they are closely affinity with those in Lijiang of Yunnan and West Qinling paleobiogeographically, and the three areas may be viewed as one paleobiogeographic province referring to the Old World Realm in Early Devonian. Furthermore, the Early Devonian coral fauna in Xainza was also closely correlative to that of East Austrialia indicating that Xainza was situated in transition area between East Australia and South China during Early Devonian because of their mixed fauna.
