    Abstract:

Makeng zinc deposit located in eastern Guangdong Province. According to study of thin and polished sections, mineral X-ray powder diffraction and electronic microprobe, the zinc element mainly occurrence in hemimorphite, associated minerals include sericite, montmorillonite, and minor kaolinite, limonite, quartz, they are weathering-leached minerals, meanwhile smithsonite is rare. This means that ore body has experienced completely wreathing, and the deposit is supergene nonsulfide zinc deposits. Comparison zinc ore body, skarn body with the fold tectonic trace, it can be found the ore and skarn body closely related with the subsidiary anticline/syncline, especially anticiline. This indicates that NNW-treading anticline structure is the mainly ore-controlling structures, the ore controlling magmatic body intrude along with the fault of flanks of anticlines. Because of the folding, in flanks and core of anticlines of limestone of Qixia Formation were detachment, it favor of formed skarn body and zinc deposit.
