Abstract:The eastern section of Qinzhou Hangzhou belt is one of the most important metallogenic belts in China. With the constant emergence of geological exploration progress and assessment results, systematic studies on metallogenic regionalismand exploration deployment are on demand. Based on recent research findings and prospecting breakthroughs, the paper divides 3 Ⅲ- level metallogenic units and 8 Ⅳ- level units in the study area in combination with regional metallogenic settings, and interprets the ore forming geological characteristics of the 8 Ⅳ- level metallogenic units. Characterized by multi- phase of temporal distribution in metallogenic process, there are four major ore forming stages in eastern Qinzhou- Hangzhou belt, in which the Yanshanian is the keystone, followed by the Jinning, Caledonian and Hercynian. The typical metallogenic types in the study area are:porphyry skarn type, submarine volcano plume hydrothermal sedimentation copper polymetallic deposits, quartz vein tungsten tin deposits and volcanic hydrothermal lead- zinc- gold- silver polymetallic deposits, accompanied by the occurrence of ductile shear zone (Jinshan gold deposit), quartz vein, structure alteration rock gold deposits and marine sedimentary iron manganese ore beds. The latest achievements of regional prospecting progress and metallogenic potential evaluation indicate that the predominant resources with great potential are Cu, Au, Ag, W, Mo, Pb and Zn. Besides, this research determines 9 prospect areas in eastern Qinzhou Hangzhou metallogenic belt, expecting to instruct the next exploration deployment work effectively.
