Abstract:With deepening of prospecting work, a number of large medium scale gold, iron and diamond deposits have been found in the area bounded by central eastern Shandong and northwestern Jiangsu provinces, making it an important mineral resources base. On the basis of the latest research results and comprehensive analysis, this study re defined the metallogenic zones for this area, which was named the Luzhong Suxibei Au- Fe- diamond metallogenic belt. The metallogenic lineage was also established. The study results show that five metallogenic stages occurred in this belt, mainly in the Archaean, Proterozoic, Paleozoic, Mesozoic and Cenozoic epochs. Minerals in the belt are dominated by Au, Fe and diamond. The gold deposit types include quartz vein type and altered rock type; the iron deposit types are sedimentary metamorphic type and skarn type; the diamond deposit type is only magmatic type. Geological prospecting progresses and national mineral resource potential assessment project indicate that Au, Fe and diamond are of big resource potential. Six metallogenetic prospective areas are divided for further guidance exploration deployment, thereby providing a scientific basis for mineral prospecting.
