Abstract:In the context of China"s increasing dependence on oil and gas resources and increasingly severe energy security situation, the investigation and exploration of oil and gas resource are still the important part of energy work. In recent years, non-profit oil and gas investigations have focused on their own advantages and actively served the national energy security. Remarkable achievements have been made in supporting the reform of oil and gas resource management and mineral rights system. Breakthroughs have been made in new areas, new formations and new types of oil and gas exploration. The industrial oil (gas) flows were obtained from the Neogene in Wensu uplift and Silurian in Shajingzi structural belt of Northwest Tarim Basin, and from Permian and Triassic in the southern margin of Junggar Basin. Great breakthroughs have been made in the exploration of shale gas in the complex structural areas of Yichang in the west of Hubei and Wuling Mountains in the north of Guizhou, shale oil in Songliao basin and coalbed gas in the south of Sichuan basin. These achievements have stimulated the active investment and exploration of energy enterprises and effectively demonstrated the leading and demonstration role of non-profit geological survey of oil and gas. The safety exploration of deep oil and gas resources, the basic geological survey of the blank area of oil and gas right and the investigation and exploration of unconventional oil and gas will be the important successor fields of oil and gas exploration in China in the future. The non-profit oil and gas survey will actively explore the field of oil and gas exploration succession starting from the basic geological problems of oil and gas, provide support for the planning and management of oil and gas resources, and strive to make greater contributions to the national energy security and major development strategy.
