Abstract:The geological structure of the northeastern Anhui in the southern part of the Tan Lu fault zone is complex. Identifying the location of ore deposits is a challenge in this thickly covered area. For this reason, and the lack of theoretical guidance based on regional characteristics, there has been no breakthrough in the exploration of gold ores in this region for a long time. Under the aegis of the Wuhe gold mine package exploration project, the author has carried out the research and analysis on the characteristics of gravity and magnetic anomalies and metallogenic law in the northeast of Anhui Province which has resulted in the discovery of the NE- NNE gravity low anomaly in this region. It has the characteristics of arc- shaped belt, and is roughly rotationally symmetric with the Tan Lu fault zone as the boundary. There are traces of Indosinian tectonic framework preserved in the gravity and magnetic anomalies. These reflect the temporal and spatial characteristics of the southern section of the Tan Lu fault zone. This indicates that the main faults in NE to NNE direction were inherited. It was formed in Indosinian and continued to be active in Yanshanian, controlling the diagenesis and mineralization of Cretaceous “red bed basin” and Yanshanian. The middle and low temperature hydrothermal type gold polymetallic deposit and skarn type copper gold deposit, controlled by inherited fault structures, are the main deposit types in the northeast of Anhui Province. These results, together with the evolution characteristics of the Tan Lu fault, promoted the innovation of geological theory by using the results of geophysical exploration, and proposed the “inherited fault structural ore control mode” of the deposit in the south section of the Tan Lu fault zone. This research solved the problem of delimiting the target area in the integrated exploration of Wuhe gold mine, and achieved important ore prospecting results. Six gold prospecting targets have been delineated in the east of the Wuhe County and verified by drilling. Two medium- sized gold deposits and three small ones have so far been found, and the estimated potential resources can reach a large scale, a major breakthrough in gold prospecting in the Tan Lu fault zone in Anhui Province.
