On the basis of previous researches, and combined with the geological achievements in scientific research and prospecting breakthroughs about the gold deposits in Shandong in recent years, this paper summarizes systematically the regional metallogenetic regularity, prospecting method, regional metallogenetic regularity of the gold deposits and gold prospecting guidance in Shandong. As a worldfamous gold provience, Shandong Province is the richest one in gold resources and gold production regions in China. In recent 5 years, particularly after National exploration and development planning (2011), Jiaodong area has made a significant progress in gold ore prospecting. In Sanshandao, Jiaojia and Zhaoping important gold ore belt have made continuous prospecting breakthroughs, the new gold resource of more than 2500 tons, has identified resources reserves has reached more than 4500 tons.In recent years, the exploration of explosion breccia type gold deposits has achieved great progress in the deep part (＜-600m) of Guilaizhuang gold deposits in Luxi area(west of Shandong), with the new gold resource of more than 20 tons. Guilaizhuang gold deposit will be the only super large gold deposit in Luxi area. It is believed that there is a good potential for exploring gold mineral resources in depth of this area. In metallogeny research, various the ores of the mechanism of mineralization, metallogenic model and ore deposit types was put forward by global geologists in recent years. This theory and viewpoint bear great in sights for prospecting breakthroughs and the theory in novation of the gold deposits in Shandong. And the exploration technology has already turn to the high precision, large detection depth prospecting methods and techniques from the conventional method of early technology.
