Abstract:The combustion metamorphic events of coal seams are a common geologic feature in many countries throughout the world, but the through analysis on its products is absent. The coal seams in Yan’an formation of Northern Ordos Basin beard spontaneous combustion universally during terrestrial time, and this study mainly focus on the characteristics of the products of combustion metamorphic events in this area. The result shows that the burnt products contain burnt remnant coal, coal ash and burnt rock. These burnt products of combustion metamorphic events distribute with an obviously zonality in section, and their petrophysics and geochemistry features changed compared with the initial rocks (i.e. coal, mudstone, sandstone), with the thermal activity, so all of them can be recognized as a special kind of metamorphic rock.
