Abstract:Thermochronology of detrital minerals is a〖KG*2〗useful means to reveal the tectonic evolution of multicycle sedimentary basin. According to the fission track age of detrital zircon and apatite〖KG*2〗samples collected from 5 areas of the Silurian strata in Southern China, the conclusion can be drawn〖KG*2〗that the Silurian strata have experienced at least three regional uplifting and cooling events since Indosinian, in early Middle Triassic, Late JurassicEarly Cretaceous and EoceneOligocene, respectively. Of〖KG*2〗them, the latter two are the key periods for reformation of Silurian strata. The former is the time in which the Silurian source rock stopped generating〖KG*2〗hydrocarbon, while the latter went up to the surface, resulting in that the seal rock was destroyed intensively.
