Abstract:The Weishancheng area in Tongbai County, Henan Province, is located in the conjunction area of Qinling and Dabie orogenic belts between the North China and Yangtze plates. In order to constrain the emplacement age of the main intrusive rocks in Weishancheng area, the zircons of eight samples from the intrusions were dated by using the U-Pb SHRIMP method. One weighted mean 206Pb/238U age of 461.8 ± 9.7 Ma (MSWD=1.10 ) were obtained from the kersantite vein at the Poshan Ag deposit, it means that the kersantite veins intruded in middle Caledonian. Six weighted mean 206Pb/238U ages were given from the meta-gabbro, quartz diorite, granodiorite and biotite granite occurring at Taoyuan intrusive body and its southern hybridized zone, which are 431.7 ± 8.3 Ma (MSWD=0.76)、432.3 ± 7.5Ma (MSWD=0.45)、470.3 ± 8.3Ma(MSWD=1.3)、431.5 ± 8.2 Ma(MSWD=1.6)、433 ± 11 Ma(MSWD=1.8)and 426.7 ± 9.1 Ma(MSWD=1.6), respectively. It indicates that the Taoyuan intrusive body was emplaced during late Caledonian. Two similar weighted mean 206Pb/238U ages were documented from the granodiorite and monzonitic granite of the Liangwan intrusive body, which are132.5 ± 2.3Ma (MSWD=1.5)and 137.0 ± 3.4Ma (MSWD=1.9), respectively. It shows that the Liangwan intrusive body was the product of middle Yanshanian magmatism. It can be concluded that the magmatic activities in Weishancheng area mainly concentrated in three periods, i.e. 460-470Ma,430Ma and 135Ma. The studies on the geochemical features shows that the middle Yanshanian granitoids are characterized by the enriched K, Nb ang Rb and depleted Na and Y, comparing with the late Caledonian granitoids The tracing studies on the Pb-Sr-Nd isotopic compositions demonstrate that the late Caledonian granitoids are enriched in the radiogenic Pb, with the 206Pb/204Pb rations varying from 19.342 to 19.712(ave.19.512), have low ratios of (87Sr/86Sr)i from 0.70211 to 0.704899, and positive εNd (t) values from +3.55 to +7.53, while the middle Yanshanian granitoids relatively low radiogenic Pb, with the 206Pb/204Pb rations ranging between 17.278 and 17.492 (ave.17.370), high ratios of (87Sr/86Sr)i from 0.707004 to 0.716968, and negative εNd (t) values from -16.95 to -9.76,. It suggests that the late Caledonian granitoids were derived from the deplted mantle, and the middle Yanshanian granitoids from the lower crust. The differences of the geochemical features and Pb-Sr-Nd isotopic compositions between the late Caledonian and the middle Yanshanian granitoids were attributed to their different tectonic setting during their emplacement, as the late Caledonian granitoids were formed in the back-arc setting, while the middle Yanshanian granitoids in the lithosphere thinning and extensional setting after the collision of the North China and Yangtze plates.
