Abstract:The Daqing Shan is the south part of the typical intraplate orogeny, Yinshan belt. The western Daqing Shan lack the large scale low-angle thrust faults and plutons that obscure the belt’s early history. Thus, this area is an ideal locality to understand the characters of the Yinshan intraplate orogeny. Through the field measure, geometrical and kinematical analysis of structures of western Daqing Shan, it can be concluded that Yinshan intraplate orogeny has two basal features, one is that the crystalline basement was widely involved in the Mesozoic tectonic deformation as thrust nappes and basement-involved folds, and the other is the pre-exist structures were universally rejuvenated and controlled the distribution of succeeding sediments and the development of reverse and thrust faults. These features imply that the crystalline basement is the bearing subsistence during the formation of Yinshan orogeny, and imply that the intraplate orogeny was caused by horizontal pressure. Combine the structure deformation characters of adjacent area, it can be drawn that the far field effect of the closure of northern Mongolia-Okhotsk Ocean and the resistance of the southern rigid Ordos Block are the two reason of formation of Yinshan intraplate orogeny.
